The World Health Organisation (WHO) considers this part of Spain, with the mildness of climate and low levels of humidity, to be one of the healthiest climates on the planet. With an average winter temperature of 15ºC, 320 days of sunshine and annual summer temperatues of 21ºC, Ciudad Quesada is an ideal destination anytime during the year. The lakes are also home to a host of wildlife including large flocks of Flamingos. Laguna de la Mata is now a Conservation Area with many paths and tracks around the lake, perfect for long walks or a mountain bike ride to take you away from it all, and yet a few moments from the town centre.
The Roman spa baths at Fortuna are well worth a visit. The thermal waters have therapeutic properties and remain at an ambient temperature all year round.

The superb sandy beach at Guardamar is the nearest beach that remains an unspoilt Spanish holiday resort with many excellent beach side restaurants and bars. Guardamar also has a varied selection of shops and a huge weekly market selling just about everything you can think of! Whilst Torrevieja, is approximately 10 mins by car.
The nearest supermarket to the apartment is Dona Pepa. There are a couple of banks with cashpoints, bars (including Laurel and Hardy's), an Italian, Chinese, etc. The larger supermarket, Carrefour, is on the outskirts of Torrevieja and stocks a large selection of international wines, spirits and beers as well as food, clothing, CD's, Suncream, and mini boutiques selling sunglasses, shoes, jewellery to mention but a few.
Other facilities closeby include 5* La Laguna Hotel and Spa, Aqua Park, Scuba Diving, Horse Riding, Go Carts, Markets, Social Club with restaurant, live entertainment, bowls and tennis, to name but a few. There are numerous Bars, Restaurants, Shops including Newsagents, Supermarkets, Tobacconists, Hairdressers, Banks with exchange facilities, Dentists and a Medical Centre.
Benidorm is just a 30 minute drive where you will find Aqualandia Water Amusement Park, Mundomar Marine Exotic Animal Park and Terra Mitica Theme Park - fun for all the family!
